Fuel line question

On the RV-9A, how far do the fuel and vent lines have to extend beyond the sides of the fuselage in order to reach the AN fittings on the tanks?

Thank you,

just far enough to where you will walk into them and crimp them. :)

that's what i did twice. and then i bent it flush with the fuselage. After we redid the left line the third time.

sorry, not the exact answer but it still applies.

Thank you,

My 9A fuel line was 2 3/8" from the side skin to the flare. I did not make a note of the vent line length. Your airplane may of course vary...

You're going to have to install and remove the wings at least once for the bottom skin platenuts -- why not leave the lines long, bend them out of the way a little, and measure your airplane during first wing install? Then cut to length and flare when you remove the wing.
