Fuel Gauge sender

Anybody know off hand if it will be necessary to pull the wing in order to replace a faulty sender?

No, if resistive type.

The resistive type SW is accessible through the wing root fairing from below. No need to remove the wings. It is tight in there but very doable.

Like Jon says...

it's doable, but on the -6 it's a pain. I find it easier just to pull the tank.

Get a 90 deg ratchet screw driver.
If you replace the cover using 8-32 cap screws (allen head) it will be much easier to do if you ever have to remove the cover again.
