Fuel gage calibration

Just calibrated the fuel senders (float type) with Dynon and both senders max out at between 14 and 15 gal, so Dynon depicts 14 gal as full. No big deal but you don't know actual fuel on board until level is something less than 14gal.
Just curious, is this what others have experienced with the float senders?

Yes, that sounds about right. On my -7 I can detect the last 15 gallons per tank, but of course my tanks are of a different geometry.

If you check out the fuel gauges Van's sells, you'll see that for the 6, 7 and 8 they detect 15 gallons and the -9 they detect 14 gallons. This is based on the part # of the units.
