Fuel Flow sensor

Ready to install fuel flow sensor for D-120 in RV-6a and thinking about putting the sensor in the short line that runs from the fuel selector valve outlet, to the electric fuel pump inlet. From the fuel pump, the line runs toward the firewall, then up about 6" to where it goes thru the firewall. This should satisfy the requirement to have the line run up-hill from the sensor. Will mounting it near the inlet side of the fuel pump have any effect on readings. Suggestions. Thanks, Bob.

That is where mine is (unknown sensor brand). I do get fuel flow fluctuations in my carbed engine but the total fuel used seems accurate.
