fuel fitting tightness

A question about how tight fuel fittings must be. I have an FI system and while installing the boost pump assembly, I found I needed to back off the T fitting between the fuel selector valve and the pump assembly to attain alignment. I needed to loosen the fitting 1/4 turn from tight for allignment.

Now I'm concerned that this might leak. I used EZ Turn on the fitting.

Any other experience the need to loosen for allignment?

Might this leak or will it be tight enough with the Tite Seal?

I assume you're talking about one of the pipe thread fittings. A flared fitting you can just tighten to spec. I don't think there is a definitive answer. Many people have had trouble with leaks when they back a fitting out. Did you take the fitting all the way off, reapply fuel lube, and then retighten? Or did you just back it out.

Dave:

Yes, I'm talking about the threaded T-fitting coming out of the selector valve connecting to the pump lines.

I backed it off 1/4 turn after it bottomed to align it with the tube. I can remove, clean, reapply fuel lube and install by counting threads.
