Fuel and Oil Hoses

My RV is now 8 years old, and has about 750 hours on it. The original hoses were aeroquip with firesleeve, made up by my local mechanic at the
FBO. I asked him this morning how long I should let them go prior to replaceing them, and he sad that if they still feel flexible, he wouldn't worry about it. Elsewhere in the forums I see that the time before replacement should be 8 years.

So, I think it is time to replace them, and I think I want to replace with Teflon with firesleave since that seems to be the hose of choice these days for longer life. My local FBO does not build up teflon replacements, he farms them out. So 2 questions:

  1. How critical is it to go another year on my present hoses?
  2. Where is the best place to get replacement hoses?

I ordered a teflon hose assembly from Spruce (for fuel). I haven't gotten it yet, but it did cost about $75 for a 12" -6 hose with teflon fire sleeve and steel fittings.
