Forward Top Skin, Sliding Canopy

I am preparing to rivet the side skins to the frame on my rv-6/a and need some advice from those who have been there. Should i leave the side skins clecoed to the longeron in the area where the forward top skin will attach until i am ready to attach the forward skin?
