Foreflight did the same last year for the Christmas season. I note that around here at the airport, "Christmas Carol noise abatement is in effect", and that visibility is affected by "magic reindeer dust". I'm assuming that those METAR advisories are generated by Foreflight, as I've never known the FAA to have that much of a sense of humor.

actually the metars and all other Wx data comes directly from NWS, a division of NOAA (not related to the FAA). Not saying that they have more or less humor though. I had allways thought the xmas jokes came from them. This post got me thinking and sure enough it does not exist on the ADDS site, so must be FF adding it.
