Flap hinge attachment

When the hinge is attached to the flap, the holes in the spar are countersunk and nothing is done to the hinge.

What happens when the hinge is attached to the wing? The flap filler is too thin to countersink isn't it? Is the hinge countersunk? It seems that dimpling the hinge would distort it a lot and would require a longer rivet than what is listed.

Thanks in advance.

Aren't you attaching 3 parts on the wing?

From the bottom up, the skin gets dimpled, then the flap brace comes next and it's countersunk and the hinge is just drilled. So, the wing skin nestles inside the countersink on the flap brace and there's the smooth top of the flap brace that matches to the smooth hinge. A least that's the way it is on my 6.

agreed

the hinge is "holes only" un dimpled. The flap brace is countersunk and the skin and is dimpled

dimpling the hinge results in misalignment and countersinking the hinge is not acceptable
