Yesterday I final fitted the electric flap actuator motor. With the spacer and washers in place I torqued the castellated nut on the AN4 bolt to the minimum spec 50 inch lbs.
However, even at the minimum torque the actuator is very stiff to move and seems to be deforming the soft aluminium spacer. I tried removing a washer but the aluminium channel the assembly sits in just bends to cause the same problem whenever I torque.
Is it normal for the motor to be this tight on its pivot? Or, should I not be torquing the nut as it is secured by a cotter pin anyway?
