I am having a couple of issues with the forward skin on my RV-7A slider. It seems that the holes are extremely difficult to line up and curve around to cleco to the longerons. It can be done but I am concerned that the holes may be elongated when drilled. It appears to be a bit tighter than the leading edge of the wing /fuel tank, but obviously not impossible.
My main concern is the area that comes around the rollbar is very tight and the skin is actually forced up against the bar. (See attached picture).
I have also noticed that my panel does not fit too well underneath the skin. It is very tight under the curves in the skin between the longerons and the outboard F-7107-L/R FWD fuselage ribs (drawing 24).
I am just wondering if this is normal and what other builders have done about it?
