FITTING FLAPS

Does the flap trimming template start at the leading edge or the trailing edge of the top the flap,ref. DWG43A???
Any pictures would help.

I just completed that task last weekend. I'll post some pictures later today. The short answer is neither. Extend the curve a couple of inches. Line up the template with the rivet line and adjust fore and aft until your extended line crosses the aft inboard corner of the flap. Trim. This will get you close. Then you can see how much more you have to trim. I think I had my flap on and off about five times before I got it the way I wanted.
