Firesleeve

I now have a stainless braided line for manifold pressure to firewall fitting. Does this need to be firesleeved?

my wild guess is that in case of a fire firesleeve is needed to protect the hose.the metal braiding would quickly transfer the heat. i also wouldn't miss my manifold pressure reading much in case of a fire.
i could be all wrong on this.

has it correct, I think.
Generally, fire sleeve simply keeps heat gain to a hose/tube low enough during a fire to ensure operation for some period of time... between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on if you want "fire resistant" or "fire proof" hoses.
Loosing manifold pressure indications is the least of your worries if you have a fire.
All that said, it could not hurt to use fire sleeve on a MP line, it is just a low priority hose.
