A private experimentally built Van's RV-12, registration N86GV, was destroyed when it crashed under unknown circumstances near the shore of Lake Palestine in Chandler, Texas.
The sole pilot onboard sustained fatal injuries.
The FAA reported that the plane crashed on initial climb, KTYR (Tyler Pounds Regional Airport) is located nearby and was possibly the departure point.
