I am having a difficult time with the Airbox vs the Chin Scoop Inlet. The distance required from the Inlet to the Mountplate appears to be short by about 1/2 inch. There is the FG Extension that is made to the Inlet and it appears to be about an inch long. Then the 1/4" gap between the Extension and the Top Plate. The Top Plate requires a 3/8" space for the gap seal rivets, now add the 4 1/2" for the Carb Heat Door/Hinge and I am 1/2 past the front edge of the Mountplate. !!

Not sure what exactly your problem is but, there is nothing magical about the fiberglass extension length so you can make it longer or shorter as necessary for all the other dimensions to work out. Just trim and fit as necessary.
