This is more a question of "why" than "how". I'm getting ready to install the F-712D up elevator stop on my -7 QB. I can't find any mention of the F-712D in the manual prior to the section for fitting the vertical stab - where it appears it should already be magically in place. Drawing 27A appears to show it bolted through the longerons as well as riveted to the aft deck plate (but no hardware called out). Am I correct in assuming that it's riveted to the aft deck because you can, and bolted to the longerons because the total stack thickness to too much to rivet?
