F-467 Battery Hold-Down ?

The stock came 9.5", the dwg. says 9". Should I cut or is there some reason I don't know of that its 9.5"? Is the extra half inch used someplace else?
I know I should, and normally I would, if I only could just follow the dwg. but...I always think that sometimes someone knows something that vans doesn't.

I don't remember cutting it, and I can't see why 9.5" wouldn't work. There isn't anything for it to interfere with in there.
