EXP vs Cert engine fly off time

Will the fly-off time of 25 hours using a certified lycoming engine turn into 50 hours if I use an experimental lycoming engine?

Phase I flight test time is a minimum of 25 hours if a certificated engine/propeller combination is used. That means no modifications at all to the engine such as aftermarket ignition and/or fuel injection system.

Otherwise, it will be a minimum of 40 hours phase I time.

Remember these are minimum numbers. The inspector can add hours for anything that makes him/her uncomfortable.
