ELT Location

The log book says it's time to replace my ELT battery in the 1999 -6A I bought. Where should I start looking for it in the A/C? And can you verify that I need an A&P to test it and sign off?

POH

The POH should tell you where the ELT is. If its not in view I would bet the builder placed it behind the baggage bulkhead.

Me thinks you, as the owner, can sign off the battery change but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in.
