With several intallations (on and off) we have cracked one end, on one CT Q-43 elevator trim cable. The sleeve that holds the rubber sleeve (seal) that the actual cable slides thru. It's right after the large threads , the metal sleeve is thin, and bending the cable assembly during installation obviously put presure and it cracked. I don't see any purpose for this metal sleeve other than to hold the rubber seal, to which it will still. I don't see it continuing cracking up into the threaded portion.
