Elevator horn to Deck Clearance

I am in the process of final fitting, checking, adjusting etc getting ready to paint. Sometiing I ran into that I never noticed before is the lateral clearance between the Elevator horns and the top deck is extremely small, about .025".

I can't imagine how I could have screwed this up as the holes for the hinges were predrilled in the Elevator and HS spars as I recall. (But I have proven in the past that if it can be done I can do it).

In any event, anyone else notice this? Is it a problem? And if so what is a simple fix?

Elevator Horn to Deck Clearance

My Left Elevator Horn is almost contacting the deck plate in the lateral position on my RV8A.
Has anyone run into this. What is the fix?

Ours was interfering slightly - out with the 'good file' and it no longer interferes

Just take the deck out a bit and clean up the edge.
