Elevator Balancing

I am nearly completed my RV9A. Does anyone have a real good method of balancing the elevator? Randy R.

Leave them nose heavy before paint. Paint will move the CG aft. Nose heavy is not bad. Tail heavy is bad.

Everything is painted and it is still nose heavy. How much heavier should the nose be. Randy

You can drill out some of the lead to balance. If you prefer not to, a little nose heavy is OK.

I like mine a little heavy on the Nose side on the ole 7A... left them that way on purpose.

Single or dual balance query

Mel,

Can the elevators be balance with both connected together to get the one control surface completely balanced or should they be individually balanced?

The reason I ask is (other than I might have already removed too much on the elevator with the electric trim) if the control surface acts as a whole then wouldn't it be OK and maybe preferred to balance the two elevators as a whole? I believe the issue is to mitigate flutter implications.
