Electrical Symbol Legends

Anyone have one?

As I work through my electrical and avionics I find that I'm only truly comprehending about 50% of the symbols I come across on various electrical drawings.

Anyone know of a good source for an aviation related symbol legend? I hate to bother Stein with this piddly stuff all the time.

Thanks in advance

AC 43.13-1B SECTION 20. *ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC SYMBOLS.

The AeroElectric Connection By Bob Nuckolls Chapter 1.

To be more accurate, Section 20 of Chapter 11 of AC 43.13-1B

Starts at page 112 here -

http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgAdvisoryCircular.nsf/list/AC%2043.13-1B/$FILE/Chapter%2011.pdf

AeroElectric Bob's book is here in PDF format (17 Mb) -

http://www.aeroelectric.com/Book/AEC12A_PDF.zip

...and I think with Bob's explanations in the text you will find it a much better document than the FAA one.

Read Chapter 1 of the zip file, "DC Fundamentals" for a good start on schematics and components.

All of the above references are excellent information. Don't feel bad about not knowing the symbols when you start....most folks don't know the difference betweden an AN470 rivet or an AN426 rivet when they order their kit, but by the time they are done they are experts! Same thing with the avionics and stuff.

Anyway, we don't mind being bothered about questions like that - those kinds of Q&A's come for free with your purchase when you buy your avionics! :)

Cheers,
Stein
