Electrical Kit

Are alternatives to the Van's electrical kit for the RV-10? I'm starting to get near that phase and woudl like to know what other builders have been using.

The answer is yes

I bought the 3 big cables from Vans, Batt to master, master to start solenoid, start solenoid to starter.

Stein provided the wiring for the autopilot.

As this was a partialy completed unit from someone else, there was a bit of additional wiring done on the panel. GRT and radios mainly.

As far as the airframe stuff went, I just did it as I went along.

It really isnt a hard thing to do, just quite daunting:eek: at first, and tedious in the end.

The best possible advice I can give is to put it on paper first-----and have someone who is knowledgeable review it.

Start with the simple stuff------lighting is a good one. Save avionics for later, when you feel better about your abilities.

Aerolectric Bobs book is worth getting. You can gain a lot of knowledge, and self confidence with it.

Good luck.
