early RV-3 wing

There are cases where planes with similar construction have had their wings 'wetted' after construction. The technique is to cut access holes in each bay of the bottom skin of the D-cell, reach in to clean and coat all the joints and rivet heads with sealant, seal and close any internal lightening holes, and then seal and close the access holes.

Are you looking to build the wings up as new, or retrofit tanks on an existing wing? Van made drawings for wing tanks as an option fairly early on. PM me if you'd like a copy of the drawing (I think it was ca. 1984... maybe earlier.)
