dynon pitot and AOA position in QB wing

Chris47

I'm New Here
Hello, for sure somebody has already installed a Dynon AOA heated pitot.
the position on drawing with a single tube for pitot is very close to the aileron braket.
it looks like better to put the pitot a little bit farther in the next rib section.
Does anyone can post a picture of this installation please?

Thank you very much

Chris

I put it in the next bay out board of the aileron control bracket to the far rib to make it easier to drill and rivet the angle support bracket.

I put this in after the wing was finished.

I am thinking about the same issue on -7 QB wings. My concern is that moving the pitot tube, (one bay toward the wing tip), could cause issues with the left tie down. I used some scrap tubing to mock-up fitment in the suggested location. Here are a few pictures showing a possible bend route and clearance.

I moved it to the next bay outboard from the bellcrank, see pictures in my previous post, also to the far outside Rib of that bay.

one of the reasons I did this was to give better clearance to the tiedown point.
I would suggest you do the same.

Rob

Thank you,
I should have search on Dynon installation manual, they have exactly what we are looking for.
and obviuosly they choose to install the pitot tube in the bay inboard the ailerons bracket.
Like this no problem of clearance with the tiedown point but that means to be very careful with AOA, pitot and heat wires Regarding the pushrod travel…
