Can this EFIS be turned on using the backup battery without turning on ship power? Do i need a separate switch, or does it have its own?

Button 1

Yes, press button 1 to manually turn on or off the display.

Yes. If you hold down button number 1 (the left most button) it will power up if you have a back up battery installed.

• Power On/Off - Press & hold Button #1
  
• Setup Menu - Press & hold buttons #7 and #8 simultaneously
  
• Screen Capture - Press buttons #2 and #7 simultaneously
