Dynon HDX Births High CHTs

We recently replaced our D100/D120 with a two-screen HDX system. Since we have flown our -9A for nearly 1,200 prior to the panel upgrade, we have a sense for what temperature indications to expect during specific flight conditions and power settings. However, since the upgrade, we have seen CHTs that run 20 degrees higher than we are accustomed to seeing in all cylinders. The oil temperature and EGT indications are as expected. We are measuring the temperature on our Lycoming O-320 (high compression) using the J-type bayonet probes that came with our original Dynon D120 which was installed in 2009. Just heard from Dynon support that this is a normal experience since the HDX measures temperature differently than the D120. And what is more, the temperatures measured should not be considered absolute. We do our best to run our CHTs under 400 and were able to get that done before. I cannot see that happening this summer. Have other had this issue when making the change from the D120 to HDX Skyview?
