I want to share an issue that slowly started to develope a few weeks ago, and steadily got to a full-time problem. When not using the radio, I sometimes had 'white-noise' develope. Using the radio stopped it, but it would come back after a pause. Recently, it became a full-time problem. Sent a note to Flight-Com, and they offered suggestions, but agreed it was likely the comm box or related. Shorten the story - I took the box out and took the top off per the instructions. I sprayed an electrical cleaner/lube on the squelch control and turned it back and forth while wet several time. Put back together, and it works well again. The box looked perfect, with no corrosion visible, but may have been some on inside control surface of squelch. In Iowa, it gets very wet and damp for maybe days during various times of the year. Anyway, hope this might help someone that has a similar problem.
