Dynon AP SRC button

In the legacy contols (HS34) the button actually says NAV SRC and is used to select among my available sources (1 GPS, 2 nav radios)

Dynon makes all the manuals readily available. Please visit their site. :)

Thanks, I've been there.

On this page, which is similar to what is in a plane I am looking at, the SRC button is apart from the NAV button: https://www.dynonavionics.com/autopilot-control-panel.php

And on this page things all seem specific to certain elements, not a general use: https://www.dynonavionics.com/autopilot-components-documentation.php

2-6 has some info on the AP but makes no mention of the SRC button here: https://www.dynonavionics.com/includes/guides/skyview/SkyView_HDX_Pilots_Users_Guide-Rev_O.pdf

8-19 here says that on the Dynon Skyview it changes the NAV source on the HSI, but does not. mention the AP head controller distinct from the Skyview system: SkyView_HDX_Pilots_Users_Guide-Rev_O.pdf

As ROLIVI mentioned - the SRC button on the Dynon AP panel allows you to toggle through all your available lateral guidance sources, just like the SCR soft button on the EFIS if you have pulled up the Autopilot screen. The reason it's on the AP panel is best addressed by the designers (either Dynon or Advanced Flight) - but I think it was to assist people who had a GPS only source for GNAV1 (or possibly GPS1) and a VOR/LOC + GS receiver for NAV1. Allows for a 1 button transfer from GPS navigation to ILS navigation if no "AUTO SWITCH" mode is possible. Having the AP panel & this button prevents the busy pilot from having to punch EFIS buttons to get to a lower level menu while flying. My hands on experience is with Advanced Flight EFIS etc but has many common features with Dynon.
You can also change the Nav Source using the CDI button (EFIS button 5 on AF5600T) or similar on Dynon - see the pilot guides for more details.
Hope this helps.
