I ordered and watched the vans DVD on mounting the wings and tail feathers this week. I followed the plans and mounted the horizontal stab, just like the vans called for. When I watched the DVD, which is in a RV-8 he tells me the HS and the VS have a completely different installation. Now I am confused and worried.

Does the HS need to have a zero degree incident angle into the flight path?

To my knowledge, there are no DVDs that cover the RV10. I would follow the plans as they are the true guide. From memory I believe the plans have you make sure they are rigged square to the empennage by using some string to a fixed point on the tailcode. Otherwise there is no incidence or other angling required when installing these.
