Dumb engine control question

Went to mount the engine control cables (throttle and mixture) that came with the FWF kit yesterday and it looks like I have to completely disassemble them to remove the nuts that go on the backside of the instrument panel including the rubber boots that protect the inner slider portion of the cable. Is this correct or am I missing some trick, thought I would check first

Yep, gotta disassemble the cables. I had the same question a while ago. It's not a big deal though and you shouldn't mess anything up.

I have never seen another way to do it. The boot slides back a bit.
