Drain Oil Cooler at Oil Change?

boomer

Well Known Member
I did it on my first two oil changes, but now I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble to drain the oil cooler at oil change time on my Lyc IO-360. What are folks doing?

It is not worth the effort. And the fittings are not designed to be cycled that often.

Now if you haven't changed your oil in years...................... then, maybe.

No need

Sounds like a solution to a problem that does not exist.
Most of all, the fittings might start a leak.
Didn't know anybody actually does that.
