Door latch pin plates?

Hey all,

On page 45-17, Van's has you make and install the forward and aft door latch pin plates. Did you actually install these?

Trying to understand what they do and if they're needed in a McMaster seal/180 latch setup.

I think most people are going with the aftermarket door blocks that negate the use of these plates. I went with the 180 degree kit from Planearound myself and have been very happy. I also did the McMasterCarr seals and they are great as well.

The intent (not sure if it is clear in the drawings or not) is for the plates to go over the casket seal and hold it flush in the area adjacent to the pins.
