Did I do something stupid?

Dumb newbie builder mistake, riveting the stiffeners to my RV-7 rudder skins I used 3-3.5 rivets instead of 3-3s. Checked them with a rivet gauge and the head is the correct width just tall, I think I know the answer, did I just waste the wrong rivets and everything is fine?

Yes....if the rivet head is seated well.

As long as the 2 skins mesh together you are good to go, build on., i used the longer ones on my build because I though the others were too short. JMHO.
