Defroster system and dual heatmuffs for the RV-7?

Hi all!

I'm wondering if anyone has installed a defroster system in the RV-7?
I'm getting there soon and it'd be great with some ideas and photos.

Also: has anyone installed dual heatmuffs in the RV-7? In that case; where did you put the second one?
I've a Superior XP-360 engine with Wetterman X-over exhaust.

So far, I'm thinking to use Vans std setup with one of the heatmuffs and install a second heatmuff to feed the defrost-system.
This setup would require an extra FF-penetration though.
I'm not quite sure that would be a good idea?

I've tried to post about this before, but little came up.
I've also searched the forum with the same result...?

Any ideas anyone?

Here's a recent thread about defrosters:

As I mentioned in the thread, I would not bother. Fogging up on the ground is occasionally a problem, but rarely in fllight.

As for dual heat muffs, I have one on each exhaust pipe, plumbed in series (one into the next) into a single heat box. I don't pull on full heat until the temps get down around 0 deg F. In the teens and 20s, a little heat is plenty.

I mounted a computer fan under the front deck that will cool the avionics and direct air to the windshield. Don

As for needing defoggers/defrosters, it all depends on the temperature dewpoint spread. Temp/dewpoint close, no sun = fog/frost on the windscreen when taxiing.
