Cylinder base nut wrenches

Lionclaw

Well Known Member
I'm trying to torque the nuts on the base of my cylinders, but the cylinder wrenches won't fit on some of the nuts. The part of the wrench that wraps around the nut is too beefy and is interfering with the cylinder barrel.

Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just grind a bit of the wrench away?

I might to see if I can get a crowsfoot on some of them.

Wow, quick response :)

Ground and torqued. I wonder why they make the heads so beefy in the first place? I always have to stop and question myself before grinding away at a new tool.

Thanks guys!

Yep, you'd think whoever manufactures cylinder base wrenches would get them right in the first place but they all have to be ground down to make them work.

The answer is obvious

Probably so if it breaks, they can say no warranty because you modified it!

Even the ones at Mattituck are ground - they do break once in a while though, IIRC.
