Cracked Steps on RV-6A

Both steps on my rv6a were cracked on the back side around to the front. Built in 1998. Has anyone else had this problem? I tig welded them back and they seem to be okay. I am currently building a rv7a and am wondering if this might happen to it. Also, if anyone needs a canopy with a two inch crack repaired already, I have one available. Cracked the front canopy while cutting. Drill stopped it and used plexi glue to repair. Not my plane so I bought new one to replace it. Thought someone may have one in a lot worse shape and wanted to replace it. If so, reply to [email protected].
