Cowl Upper Pin Retainer Assembly

On page 47-7, it discusses the cowl upper pin retainer assembly in figures 6, 7, and 8. I made it, and it fits. But, it seems to me that it has to be removed in order to pull the pins. Galling the screw - as suggested in figure 8 - seems like a dumb move if it has to be removed everytime.

Anybody have a comment or suggestion?

You just have to loosen the screws to move the plate down about 1/8" or so to be able to remove the pins. Reason they tell you to gall the screws is so that the plate doesn't fall off. Personally I didn't and am glad because after a bunch of removal cycles you'll wind up putting in new screws because the head will start to strip a bit.
