Countersink the wrong side

jurik

I'm New Here
While assembling the W-314 aileron bracket of my RV-7 I countersunk the wrong side of the bracket for the 2 AN426 rivets just bellow the bearing (DWG 10A).

Is it safe to countersink the other side as well and rivet from the correct side? I have done this and the shop head almost fills the countersink hole on the other side just like riveting the trailing edge of the rudder. In addition, I drilled a third hole lower but centered between the pre-punched holes for extra support.

Is this ok?

I accidentally did the same thing on mine. I'm thinking since there's no force prying the bracket appart it shouldn't be a problem. I simply CS the other side and squeezed a slightly longer rivet as with the empenage trailing edges. I think an additional rivet would give it additional strength if you're concerned.
