Cooling Exit Size

Can someone please give me the measurements for the RV-7's cowl exit area? Height and width are all I need.

Thanks Don. Should have been more specific, my fault. Need the exit area for the stock cowl.

I'll get exact Measurements

Hey Dan,

I'll get exact measurements today but I ended up cutting the cowl tunnel 3" forward. The sides angled back to the firewall and the flat edge. This was done 1" at a time until I got optimum cooling.

This was done to deal with our extreme heat in AZ. Don't know how the 390 will handle this. Could actually be better.

Dan,

I measured the exit area of my cowl before modifying it for the Subaru and it was 4x14 or 56 inches squared. If you subtract the area for the exhaust pipes it is about 51 inches.

The inlet is 7x3.25x2 or 45.5 inches squared. That's leaves an exit ratio of about 112%, a bit short. I believe the experts recommend 120%.
