Control Stick Movement / Interference

UnPossible

Well Known Member
Hey - putting my panel in for what I hope is the last time. After I mounted the Andair throttle quadrant, I am having some inteferrence issues with the stick hitting the throttle lever. However, the wings are not on and I imagine that the sticks will not move that far when they hit the stops.

1) Does anyone know how many degrees of lateral travel I should have in the sticks on a RV-7A?

2) How far can you cut down the stick before the airplane will become twitchy? Right now, the top of the Tosten grips are where the top of the stock stick where. If I removed an inch or two, would I be significantly scaling up the twitchy factor?

3) Any other solutions that I'm not thinking of? Thought of moving the quadrant to to the right, but then I'll have the same problem with the passenger stick.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason,

Don't cut the sticks. I did that and regret it.

Wait till you have all the surfaces mounted.

The quadrant should be OK.

It moves less when all controls are hooked up to
their final spots.

Don't have the spec's though.
