Simple task - pop rivet in the ELT bracket (RV9A - putting it in the standard Van's location behind the baggage bulkhead). The top side was easy, but the bottom flange attaches to the J channel where the side skin has the big bottom curve in it and also has another J channel nearby. My pop riveter is too long to slide over the mandrel in between the two J channels. Using my usual wedge to bend the mandrel isn't even enough, since it would probably need to bend close to 45 degrees because of the skin curve. Is there another trick to close quarters pop riveting like this, or is it not a big deal to just crank the mandrel way over?
