Cleaveland Tool Back Seat Frame - Cuttable?

Cleaveland has been out of stock of the 40% portion of their RV10 seat back frame (http://www.cleavelandtoolstore.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RV10SBACK) for a while. I've asked them to check on stocking status and there hasn't been any update for a while. So I was wondering about ordering two of the 60% pieces and cutting off the center section. Does anyone that has ordered this think this is possible given the construction style? I don't know what it looks like with the new slat style of construction they are using.

What you want to do is possible.

I went ahead and ordered both of them even though the site said they are back ordered. Their site isn't always updated and they have said out of stock since OSH. However they shipped in 3-4 weeks.

I'd say place your order and keep building somewhere else on the project while they get them to you. They're easy enough to install when they arrive.
