Cleaning up the airframe.

Hi All

I would like to know what difference is expected in cruise numbers when you have all the gear leg and nose leg fairings on.

My aircraft lost one of its wheel spat fairings during its shipping. I also havent had the nose gear fairing fitted yet ( nosegear mod done but no fairing)

I noticed today that the elevator is not 100% level. The left side is slightly higher than the right.

I am flying off the 15 hours proving flight at the moment then the 6 goes in for new paint, interior and some panel changes.

What sort of loss of speed am I incuring at the moment.

Shawn,

Try using a the search button, there is a lot of info out there on this topic.

Typically you gain 10 kts/mph from the gear leg fairings and 5 for the wheel fairings. YMMV.

12 kts

I checked my RV-6 at 8000 feet, full throttle (75% power). The gain was 12 kts when wheel and landing gear fairings were installed.
