CHT variance source may be factory baffling

I am applying glass reinforced UltraBlack RTV to my cylinders on a factory new Superior 0360. The exit air area on the metal baffling has a surprising variance from cylinder to cylinder. Measuring the gap in the baffle ends on the bottom side of the cylinders :
Barrell- range= 1.25” to 2”
Avg. =1.66”
Variance to AVG = 45%
Cyl. Head- range= 2.175” to 2.62”
AVG= 2.40”
Variance to Avg= 15%
My objective is to define where to end the the ultrablack liner on the bottom under the metal baffle. I could just use a conservative opening and accept a little less theoretical cooling improvement compared to loose fitting metal. BUT, the variance in the metal baffling is surprising and concerning. Yes Larry, I'm here, but may not be much help. I made various small mods at the baffle exits, but that was a long time ago.
