Changing oil in air compressor

I have a Porter Cable oiled cylinder air compressor. It's the horizontal tank unit on wheels. Does anybody have an idea on oil change interval for these things? Time from new / every xxx hours ?

I'm hunting for my manual and can't find it.

I'll try to answer you

My Ingersol Rand manual recommends changing oil every:
3 months or 500 hours for petrolium oil, or
12 months or 2000 hours for synthetic oil

Change ever 25 years. Seriously the tank will rust out and explode before the oil wears out in the pump. Kind of like changing the air in your tires. No combustion blow by. My dad has a sears 3 hp 220v with no oil changes yet. Bought and put in service in 1974. I don't think he is too concerned about it.

I have a Sears 20 gallon unit that I purchased in the 70's. A few months ago the belt broke. I decided on a new belt and its first oil change. The oil was dark but still oily. The thing is still working good. I used NAPA compressor oil and a NAPA belt.
