I'm nearing competion of a 6A with tip up canopy and canopy release. Just wondering if anyone had ever had to use this feature in flight and lived to tell about it?

Many, many references to this question in the forum archives, but short answer......no and n/a.

Best wishes for a speedy completion of your project!

In a word...

Ditto Sam! Just passed a recent milestone, 10 years since our Prattville AL RV fly-in/BBQ you so kindly helped me with. (20 years since I purchased my RV4 tail kit.) Your "cutting edge site" helped me greatly back in the day on my 4 as well.

Wow, seems like a long time ago! Thanks again...

Smokey,

The ten years have indeed flown buy! I fondly recall the TVRVBG gang in our new polo shirts as we stopped at Prattville on the way to S-N-F.

But one of the most impressive sights I've seen was a certain RV-4 pilot making a slow pass over DCU in his F-16 with all the armament hung under the wing! Bet that guy who launched off his farm strip and headed for the local nuclear power plant nearly had a cardiac when you pulled up next to him. :)
