Canopy release Handle?

I am thinking of not installing the canopy release in my airplane. Does anyone modify the T-handle to alow the removal of the inst panel. Thinking of cutting off the handle and adding a removable handle. Any thoughs?

I didn't install mine.

Just use the Search button at the top and enter 'canopy release'.
There is lots of information.

Most people that use this option extend the shaft straight down and operate is below the panel.
