Canopy lock revisited

While it has been hashed over several times with respect to the philosophy and mounting of simple hasps on the skirt, I have not seen a comment on the Vans sliding rail lock--CA CANOPY LOCK. At $120 it is not cheap but......

Anyone using one? experience? thoughts? got something better? Besides a self feeding and watering pit bull?

Bought one but may not install it.

I bought one but have not mounted it because it would require drilling a hole in the track right over an area where I have a lot of electronics. I am thinking about the canopy side latch that I have been seeing. looks more secure.
